Thanksgiving was a time to take stock of the good things in one’s life. Some of the things I am thankful for (beyond the usual health/family/friends items) include: having some sort of sense of humor, and having had multiple opportunities to work with creative people. One of those creative people I have had the pleasure of working with shared this John Cleese video on creativity. It seems worth sharing, because sometimes when a Planner/Urban Designer/Architect/Human gets caught up in the daily grind and the technicalities of bulk envelopes, and FARs, and feasible designs, and sustainability, and resiliency, and community acceptance, it is good to remember that it is often easier to solve a problem or come up with creative solutions by relaxing, and indulging in some time to contemplate and play.
